About Kerri Arthur
When I was little, I would sit and play with bits of cloth and needle, while my grandmother, Carmella, hand sew dolls and clothing on an old Singer featherweight.
I have always had a passion for making things with my hands. I got my first sewing machine for Christmas when I was 8, and I still have the first thing I made with it! I taught myself how to quilt while living in Texas in 1998.

After years of trying different crafts, in 2003, I discovered my love of primitives and folk art. Whether its quilting, primitive woodworking, wool crafts or collecting primitive items and furniture, if its primitive, I LOVE IT!

Born and raised in Central New York, I really enjoyed many of the local craft fairs and artisan expos, where I often found inspiration for my own creations. The annual Apple Festival in Lafayette, NY was my favorite. Each year I looked forward to seeing what great primitive handcrafted items and creations the artisans would offer for sale.

In 2004, I re-located to the Triangle Area of North Carolina with my husband and daughter. Today I am a devoted mom of two, and I enjoy spending time with my family, and creating and researching new projects, to make and share and I continually seek to learn more about primitive style, craftsmanship and history.

I started Calico Rabbit to share my designs and products with fellow passionate primitive lovers, like you!

Feel free to e-mail me anytime! I love to hear from fellow prim folks!

From 2000-2001, Kerri hosted, and appeared in the local access television program "My Cozy Home," demonstrating how to create economical quality decor for the home. The show was a success locally in the Syracuse, NY area, and received a volume of mail with positive comments from the public.

In 2004, Kerri relocated to the Triangle Area of North Carolina with her husband and their daughter. Now a devoted mom of two, Kerri enjoys spending time with her family, and creating and researching new projects, as well as learning more about primitive style and craftsmanship.
